Purpose of committee

Public health emergency

 

In accordance with regulations in response to the current public health emergency the County Council will, until further notice, hold virtual committee meetings.  Members will attend and participate remotely via conference calls and there will be press and public access via webcasting.

 

The agendas for these meetings will be published on the website and the meetings will be available to watch online via our webcasting website.

The Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Committee is responsible for:

 

·        Adults' social care services

·        Adults' safeguarding

·        Coroner's services

·        Dementia services

·        Health and health partnerships

·        Public health

·        The review and scrutiny of the planning, provision and operation of health services in West Sussex

The Scrutiny Committee has 20 members, made up of 12 county councillors, seven district and borough councillors (may vote on health matters only) and one Local Healthwatch member (non-voting).
