Councillor Henna Chowdhury

Henna Chowdhury has lived in Worthing since 1986. She attended local schools and Northbrook College. Henna has worked at the Department for Social Security and in the Voluntary Sector. She has also worked at her local GP Surgery as a Medical Receptionist and at the local NHS Hospital.

Henna is a Community Interpreter at a School for Children with Special Needs and has interpreted at hospitals, for people using mental health services, Social Services, Courts and GP surgeries. She has worked at the Progress Community Project recovery unit which helps residents adjust back into the community and is also a Registered Childminder.

In 2019, Henna was elected as a councillor on Worthing Borough Council and was the first female Muslim serving as a councillor in Worthing. She is now the county councillor for the Tarring division.
