Admission Arrangements for Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools in West Sussex and the Coordinated Scheme of Admissions

The County Council has a statutory duty to consult on community and controlled school admission arrangements each year where there are proposed admission arrangement changes and once every seven years, if there are no proposed changes.

 

A public consultation has been undertaken in relation to a range of proposed changes which would take effect in 2021 and the outcome of this is set out in section 3 of the report.

 

The proposed changes to school admission arrangements for 2021 are outlined in section 2 of the report.

to the Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, via the Author or officer contact, by the beginning of the month in which the decision is due to be taken

Consultees

In accordance with admission regulations, consultation is taking place between December 2019 and end of January 2020 for a period in excess of the minimum 6 week requirement.  The key stakeholders consulted include the Resources, School Organisation, Capital and Admissions (Resources and SOCA) sub-group of the Schools Forum, parents, school staff and governors, Diocesan Authorities and neighbouring local authorities.  A consultation document is available on the West Sussex website and promoted through the local press.
