Due to growing demand for school places, an expansion project was undertaken at Nyewood CE Junior School in 2015 to increase the published admission number from 75 to 90 places per year. A new school hall is required to complete the expansion.
In March 2019 the Cabinet Member for Education and Skills took a decision (Decision ref ES19 (18/19)) to approve the allocation of £1.193m from the Basic Need Capital Programme to fund the new hall. As part of the decision the Cabinet Member delegated authority to the responsible Executive Director to award the building contract to carry out the necessary works.
