Award of contract for works for the Refurbishment of the Changing Rooms at Midhurst Rother College

Midhurst Rother College is an Academy Secondary School providing education for pupils aged 11 to 18 in the Midhurst/Petworth area and surrounding areas.

In March 2022 the then Cabinet Member for Learning and Skills approved the allocation of funding for the provision of additional changing facilities at the school (Decision reference LS16 (21/22)).  This was to provide facilities to accommodate 8 forms of entry (8FE).

As part of the decision, authority was delegated to the Assistant Director (Property and Assets) that, subject to receipt of planning permission and statutory consents, a construction contract should be entered into with the successful tenderer.

Since the decision was taken, following a further assessment and in agreement with the school, the proposal scope has been revised and will now involve refurbishment of the existing changing facilities appropriate for an 8FE Secondary school, as set out within DfE Guidance, rather than provision of additional facilities.

A procurement process is being undertaken and, on conclusion, the Assistant Director (Property and Assets) will be asked to approve the award of the construction contract for the project to the successful tenderer.
