St Augustine’s CE Primary School, located in Scaynes Hill, close to Haywards Heath, is a 105 place school for 4-11 year olds incorporating 4 classrooms. One of the four classrooms is in 30 year old modular accommodation which has significant suitability and condition issues due to the age of the buildings. Projections indicate that there is continuing need to maintain provision for 105 pupil places at the school to ensure continued capacity for children of primary age in the village but also within the wider locality. Therefore, it is necessary to replace the modular unit to maintain the ability of accommodating a class of 30 pupils at the school.
Approval is required for the allocation of funding from received S106 monies within the Capital Programme to replace the life expired modular classroom at St Augustine’s CE Primary School with permanent accommodation. In addition, the budget will fund all associated fees, ICT and furniture and equipment.
