In April 2022 the Government confirmed that the County Council could be awarded c. £17.4m to deliver some of the ambitions in its Bus Services Improvement Plan (BSIP).
The grant funding is available until 31 March 2025 by when the ambitions will have to be delivered. The Summary Enhanced Partnership Plan Spending Plan, approved in June 2022, includes both revenue funded service improvements and some capital highways schemes that could prove technically challenging and presents some financial risk to the Council.
In January 2023, the Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport approved the capital budget for the delivery of ambitions in the Enhanced Partnership Spending Plan and delegated authority to the Assistant Director (Highways, Transport and Planning) to undertake the procurement process and award contracts.
In June 2023, the Assistant Director (Highways, Transport and Planning) awarded a contract to VIX Technology Ltd for the purchase of 255 Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI) screens using the Hampshire County Council Framework Agreement. This report is about the purchase of a second tranche of RTPIs
