Mid Sussex District Council Consultation on Burgess Hill Community Governance Review 2022

Mid Sussex District Council is consulting on a proposed change to the boundary of Burgess Hill Town Council. It has indicated that, if the change is made, it could seek a consequential change to the County Council division boundary between Burgess Hill North and Cuckfield & Lucastes.

The proposal has been considered by the Governance Committees’ Electoral Review Panel which has recommended a response to be sent on behalf of the County Council. As the deadline for responses to the consultation is 12 August 2022 and the Governance Committee is not due to meet until September, the Director of Law and Assurance, in consultation with the Vice-Chairman of the Governance Committee, has approved the Council’s response under the urgent action procedure set out in Standing Order 3.45.
