Award of contract for the collection of recycling and general waste from the West Sussex estate and schools

West Sussex County Council has a statutory duty of care under Section 34 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 to dispose of waste it produces at its premises, this includes a duty to undertake recycling. To meet this duty of care, waste and recycling collection arrangements are in place for sites provided under a framework contract that expires on 30 September 2021.

A tender process, which was started in April 2021 to ensure that the County Council continued to meet its statutory duty, is now complete.
