St Anthony's school has over (estimated) 200 applicants each school year. Which is astonishing considering currently they are only able to accept a maximum of 30 SEN students per reception year.

We are petitioning FOR the move for Jessie Younghusband primary school to move onto the new Minerva Heights development where a new school (currently 1 FE, lager expanding to a 2 FE) is being built.
St Anthony's school is at maximum capacity and moving Jessie Younghusband will create desperately needed extra spaces for SEN children in our county.

We understand that there are currently no other alternatives being considered by WSCC, so in the absence of any other solution, this proposal is welcomed, and potentially life-changing, for the 50 families who will benefit from the additional 50 places that St Anthony’s will be able to offer.

St Anthony's school have specialist, dedicated teams to provide an outstanding education for children with disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and social communication difficulties plus a wide range of other disabilities.
Their current position at Woodlands Lane, Chichester, has proven to be outstanding and expanding their school will enable more children to access their specialist supporting teams.

Many of our SEN children are missing out on the education they deserve and the support specialist teams can provide and are being placed into mainstream settings. These settings are often unable to provide the support needed resulting in reduced timetables and disruption to other children without additional needs in class.

Please support this move and welcome the extra desperately needed specialist school places in our county.
