The Community Initiative Fund is a County Local Committee (CLC) administered fund that provides assistance to local community projects.

The Director of Law and Assurance, in consultation with the Chairman of The Joint Eastern Arun Area Committee and the Chairman of the Performance and Finance Scrutiny Committee, has used his delegated powers under Standing Order 3.45 to decide the following CIF Application:

That the following Community Initiative Fund awards be made:

West Sussex Crowd

•        508/JEAAC - Arun Youth Aqua Centre, ‘Let’s get afloat!’, up to £500.00 towards purchasing two new dinghies.

•        516/JEAAC – MenWalkTalk, ‘Expand and grow the MenWalkTalk offer’, up to £1000.00 towards delivering mental health first aid training and promotional banners.

•        565/JEAAC – Fare Divide, ‘LA Community Fridge gleaning project’, up to £500.00 towards purchasing a gazebo to house pop-up stalls for surplus fresh produce made available to the local community. This pledge is subject to the applicant completing an impact report for their previous campaign.

•        572/JEAAC – 4Sight Vision Support, ‘A little kindness goes a long way’, up to £1000.00 towards purchasing large print crossword books to be delivered to people living with blindness.

Microfund

•        553/JEAAC – The Juno Project, ‘This Is Me programme’, £750.00 towards the cost of freelance facilitators delivering a 12-week programme for disengaged and marginalised teenage girls.
