This report is about the Cabinet Member for Finance and Property confirming that nine assets are deemed surplus to service operational requirements.


Declaring them surplus enables a further decision to be made on either a sale of the asset (for a capital receipt) or to retain it for wider non-service led activities of the County Council such as redevelopment for investment, regeneration, social, community, environmental use or active travel, particularly where this could complement the CountyCouncil’s ambitions relating to climate change where it is viable.



The Cabinet Member for Finance and Property has approved that the County Council declares the following assets surplus to service operational requirements:

  2. Wick Farm (Holding 212) Truslers Hill Lane, Albourne, Hassocks, West Sussex, BN6 9DU
  3. Albourne Lake - Truslers Hill Lane, Albourne, Hassocks, West Sussex, BN6 9DU
  4. 7 Crawley Lane, Pound Hill, Crawley, West Sussex, RH10 7EB
  5. 1 and 2 Laundry Cottages Horsham Road, Southgate, Crawley, West Sussex RH11 9HQ
  6. Acorn Centre, Stane Street, North Heath, Pulborough, West Sussex, RH20 1DJ
  7. Wittering Youth Centre, Church Road, East Wittering, Chichester, West Sussex, PO20 8PS
