Day Services (Adults with Learning Disabilities) Contract Awards OKD39 (21/22)

Decision Maker: Executive Director Adults and Health

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

This report seeks approval to authorise the aware of contracts for the learning disability day service and volunteering services as listed in Appendix 1 from 31st March 2022 to 31st December 2023 under the existing contractual terms.

The procurement timetable for provision beyond March 2022 has been significantly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, the proposed model for day opportunities and services that support people to volunteer, will need to be informed by the Adults’ Services strategy under development and due to be published in early February 2022.

The contracts with the providers of these services end on 31st March 2022 and the extension provisions allowed for in these contracts have already been utilised. Therefore, there will be a need to make a direct award of new contracts to the existing providers.

To allow sufficient time to codesign a detailed model and sourcing approach and implement the new model for day services, it is recommended that new contracts are awarded with current providers on existing terms to 31st December 2023.

Decision:

The Executive Director of Adults and Health has approved the direct award of the learning disability day service and volunteering contracts listed in Appendix 1 from 31st March 2022 to 31st December 2023 under the existing contractual terms.
