The Community Initiative Fund is a County Local Committee (CLC) administered fund that provides assistance to local community projects.

The Director of Law and Assurance, in consultation with the Chairman of South Chichester County Local Committee and the Chairman of the Performance and Finance Scrutiny Committee, has used his delegated powers under Standing Order 3.45 to decide the following CIF applications:

1.   Decline the following application to the South Chichester CLC Community Initiative Fund:

West Sussex Crowd:

597/SC – Chichester Tunnels Group, ‘Chichester Tunnels – Fact or Fable?’, £1,743.00 (crowdfunding target) - to carry out exploratory surveys underground and publish educational resources. Declined on the grounds of insufficient evidence pertaining to wider community benefit and meeting CIF criteria.

2.   Approve the following application to the South Chichester CLC Community Initiative Fund:

Microfund:

614/SC – Peak Performance Sports Limited, £698.93 (total project cost) – to deliver a six-week sports and wellbeing course for children (on a first come, first served basis), aged 8-13, at Westhampnett Community Hall from May to July.
